It is my pleasure to welcome you to Thomas Elementary. Our dedicated staff works very hard to meet the individual needs of all students and maintain personal connections with their families. We invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTA, or attending and supporting school events. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for the child.

We truly believe that communication is the key to a successful educational experience. Together, we will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children of Thomas Elementary. Education is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and community. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals. Nothing motivates a child more than when learning is valued by schools, families, and community in partnership.  As I am in my seventh year as principal of Thomas Elementary, 21st year in administration, and 27th year over all, I continue to be thrilled at opportunities to engage with the community in the education process together. The elementary years are critical times of development for students and families alike, and I look forward to working with all of you.

Sincerely,

Zack Pruett

Assistant Principal

Bridgett Prather

Bridgett Prather

My name is Bridgett Prather, and I am thrilled to serve as your assistant principal this school year.

I am a true Texan; I was born and raised in a small East Texas town near Tyler. I joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and proudly served my country for four years. While in the military, I  volunteered as a mentor and discovered my passion for working with youth.

I have been with the Plano ISD family since 2012. I have taught at middle school and elementary campuses as a classroom teacher and worked as an Instructional Coach for several years.  I hold a Master of Arts in Mathematics from Texas Woman’s University and attended Lamar University to obtain my principal certification. In my quest to continually learn and grow, I also earned my personal coaching certification from the CaPP (Coaching and Positive Psychology) Institute.

When I’m away from my school family, I love to spend time in nature admiring the sunset, traveling to new places, seeking ways to grow, and enjoying time with my family. My husband and I have raised two amazing young men.

I look forward to serving our Thomas Texans by nurturing a climate of inspiration and promoting a culture of success. I am excited to partner with you to provide excellence in education for all students and strive to empower our students and teachers to be caring, responsible, life-long learners with big dreams.

Here’s to another outstanding school year!

Assistant Principal

Michelle Tatro

Hello, Plano ISD community and Thomas families! My name is Michelle Tatro (with a long A, long O). I joined Team Plano ISD in 2013. I taught kindergarten, 5th grade, and worked as an instructional specialist before becoming an assistant principal! I became an assistant principal in Plano ISD in 2021! I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees from SMU, but we mostly root for the Georgia Bulldogs because it’s my husband’s college (with a much better football team). I have a wonderful husband, Jeremy, and two sons, Nathan and JR. When I am not working, I love spending time with family, listening to podcasts, going for walks and being outside. I like to build strong relationships with students, families and staff and I believe in growth for each student. I am excited to partner with you all and support your children as they learn and grow. Go Texans!
