Work Habits Tips
Ways to help your child succeed
Fifth grade is the last year of elementary school. The skills and knowledge that children develop this year will follow them throughout the rest of their education. Study habits begin to develop. Skills learned this year apply to higher education.
To help your child be successful, assist them in developing proper study habits now. Set a homework time everyday and provide a place to work with limited distractions. Ask them questions about what they’ve learned. Together check your child’s agenda every night to ensure all assignments have been completed.
Keep an open line of communication with your child’s teacher. Together we will make this year a learning and productive year.
Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is very important. There are several ways to be involved. Keeping an open line of communication with your child’s teacher is one of the most important ways to be involved. Students may not always express their feelings in school and as parents you can let us know what is going on with your child. Please contact your child’s teacher anytime via phone or email if you would like to volunteer for an activity or event. Look in the newsletter for upcoming events to volunteer.
